ANDY WILSON PODCAST

AUG 14, 2025 – PODCAST

Timothy joins Andy Wilson from The Traveller in the Evening for a lively conversation entitled Black Opals of Gurgling Negation. The podcast and journal focuses on reflections on William Blake, Surrealism, ecology, radical theory and politics. From Andy:

“I’ve been reading Blake for years. My dream was to find the time one day to write a book about what I learned. Right now, that day isn’t getting any closer. The world has taken a terrible turn. We continue marching toward an environmental catastrophe set in train ages ago. Some days feel like it is evening everywhere.”

QUEER ECOLOGIES

RESEARCH COLLECTIVE

AUGUST 23, 2025 – LECTURE

A talk entitled EARTH AS HEAVEN, NEIGHBOR AS SELF, LIFE AS SOUL: THROUGH THE QUEER LOOKING GLASS BRIGHTLY to be presented to the QuERC community during a retreat at Mildred’s Lane. The event will be broadcasting from the “Barn Lyceum,” an antique farm structure retrofitted for 21st-century gatherings.

“The Queer Ecologies Research Collective is a dynamic organization for cross-pollination and community-building within the interdisciplinary field of queer ecology, established in 2023. Like any body, the QuERC is constituted by its participants. Each gathering or project provides new opportunities for an emergent collective to form, with the goal of generating knowledge and experimental methods for collective research.”

ICOM 2025 MUSEUM FEST

SONORA MUSEUM, MEXICO

SEPT 3, 2025 – LECTURE

Part of the ICOM 2025 Museum Festival, which will take place at the Sonora Museum of Art, in Hermosillo, Mexico, from September 3 to 5, under the title: “Museums on the Border.”

The Festival seeks to create a space for critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dialogue among cultural agents to address the challenges currently facing museums and the world. DJ SPOOKY & Michael Sakamoto

SEPT 12, 2025 – DIALOGUE

Paul Miller (DJ SPOOKY) and Michael Sakamoto will be at the University of Texas – Austin from September 6-12 for a development residency for their new work, time/life/beauty.

The work fuses butoh dance theater, hip-hop mixology, new music, and multimedia. Inspired by the legacy of famed composer-musician and activist Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952-2023), time/life/beauty looks at the past, present, and future of acute cultural, social, and ecological themes in our historical moment. Their residency will culminate with a work-in-progress showing on September 12. Timothy will join them for a public conversation to explore the themes of the exhibit.

International Forum

INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON THE SUSTAINABILITY OF CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

SEPT 26 – 28, 2025 – KEYNOTE

Keynote session titled “Against the Word Sustainability”. In a time when the term “sustainability” is frequently invoked yet rarely examined in depth, the forum proposes a space of collective reflection and critical engagement. It will address the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability within the cultural field, questioning not only how institutions can reduce their impact, but how they can evolve into active agents of transformation.

The forum will not be a traditional conference, but rather a working context —a space for research, exchange, and shared responsibility —open to institutions, artists, researchers, educators, and professionals who wish to rethink the role of culture in shaping sustainable futures. There will be ontributions from professionals and institutions based in Europe, the United States, China, South America and beyond

Spectulative Geographies

SPECTULATIVE GEORGRAPHIES OF THE NEW CLIMATE REGIME

SEPT 30, 2025 – KEYNOTE

Hosted by the University of Augsburg, this Keynote will be part of the conference “Speculative Geographies of the New Climate Regime”, which will take place from 1 to 3 October 2025 in Augsburg, Germany.

This conference aims to explore the potential of speculative thinking in all its forms for empirical research and societal transformation, to understand better the planetary crisis we are currently facing, without being trapped in the dominant narratives of overly reductionist techno-fixes. The conference will consist mainly of lectures and workshops. In addition, there will also be artistic performances – for example, by Danaé Brissonnet, who has provided the conference with one of her illustrations for the promotion of the conference.
